INDEPENDENT ADVISORY

Twenty years of our people’s work in strategic sourcing taught us one thing with total precision: what work costs, and what happens to a business when that cost changes. We priced not only the work itself, but how and from where it must be delivered: per shift, per seat, per claim, per contract, per country, long before the current focus on AI.

We assess every material revenue line of a business with VenDI℠, the Venes Durability Indicators for individual revenue streams: how exposed it is, what it costs to deliver, and what to do about it. The output is a dollar figure at 12, 24 and 36 months and a defence for every exposed line. AI adoption is sometimes the tool used to execute that defence, but software is never what we sell.

This same approach applies to every stakeholder at the table. A deal team needs to know which target revenue streams will survive before closing an acquisition. A board wants to know the exact same thing about companies they already own. Most importantly, executive leadership needs these answers first, allowing them to build a proactive strategy before board pressure forces a reactive fix. Regardless of your seat, the core question remains the same: which revenue survives technology disruption, what does it cost to deliver, and how do we protect it?

We present our findings directly to executive management teams, corporate boards, and investment committees to help them make practical business decisions grounded in their current business realities. Since 2016, Venes has delivered business and technology strategies, global sourcing, provider evaluations, and operating-economics advisory across healthcare, financial services, technology, and education; with offices in Richardson, Texas, Nashville, Tennessee and Chennai, India.

Sethu Arumugam, Managing Director, Venes

Sethu Arumugam, Ph.D.

Managing Director

Sethu is instrumental in developing Venes as a trusted advisor to boards, senior executives, and operational leaders facing multi-front industry pressures. Today's leaders navigate supply chain disruptions, workforce shifts driven by AI, and newly emerging risks that impact next quarter's forecast. Having spent over two decades in direct operations rather than advisory, Sethu built Venes’ practices on a core belief: resilient companies master their true work costs and risk exposures long before market forces compel them to act.

That perspective comes from managing real operational risk and bottom-line accountability. Across two decades in healthcare, financial services, tech, and education, Sethu led major operations and capital budgets. He directed large-scale global sourcing, integrated cross-border acquisitions onto unified platforms, and steered regional and global operations through program management, structured redesign, data migrations, and data center consolidations, including the insourcing of a top-ten US bank's credit card business and regulatory reporting. Having launched multiple ventures and built global delivery teams, he brings a practical understanding of what it takes to operate reliably and meet strict compliance.

Since 2016, he has helped Venes and its clients apply that same discipline, knowing precisely which services to offer, what work costs, and how it is delivered, to a newer question: which revenue streams will hold up as AI shifts the cost of doing that work. He holds a PhD with a background in quantitative research, an MBA from Indiana State University, and a BS in Physics from the University of Madras.

He brings a grounded macro perspective to corporate strategy, closely tracking how geopolitics, long-term policy, and international labor dynamics reshape the global business landscape.
